My mission statement for this blog is "learning to trust God more". I chose this because we trust Him in good times differently than in bad times. It's easy when everything is going our way. Christian maturity comes when we realize that good times do not always equate to closeness to our Saviour. What happens when the lights are out and it is dark? My darkness came in December 2007 when I was told that my cancer had returned and as my doctor put it, "you are terminal and have anywhere between 3-5 years." That was dark, but my God did not allow me to be alone. This is when He gave me this short prayer, "Lord, thank you for healing me!". I would wake in the middle of the night with a dread, but this short prayer got me through. I also had times when prayer verses would tumble out and fill my inner most being. I want others to know that in our darkest of times, He is with us, and we can indeed learn to trust Him more!
